On 31 May, we hosted a vibrant and successful Padel fundraiser at Africa Padel, La Lucia Mall, in support of Fingerprints of Love. The event brought the community together for an exciting afternoon of sport and solidarity, with all proceeds directed toward the development of the Sport Precinct in Seatides.

We partnered with Immanuel Church in Waterloo to carry out essential infrastructure upgrades that have significantly improved safety and accessibility. This included the tarring of a steep driveway, the installation of a soak pit, and the addition of proper ablution facilities. These enhancements have created a more welcoming and dignified environment for both congregants and the broader community.
In the heart of Seatides—a lower-income suburb near Tongaat—we successfully raised funds and oversaw the design and installation of a jungle gym for local children. This fun and engaging play structure has become a focal point for community interaction and healthy outdoor activity, enriching the lives of young residents.
Recognising the importance of early childhood development, we facilitated the installation of a jungle gym for a crèche in the Waterloo RDP community near Verulam, Durban. Through successful fundraising and careful oversight, we provided a safe and stimulating space where young children can play, grow, and thrive.
In the wake of the devastating floods of May 2022, over 40 learners from Aldinville Senior Primary School in KwaDukuza were left displaced—some without homes to return to. Fingerprints of Love stepped in to provide urgent support, distributing food parcels to affected families and contributing R5,000 towards school uniforms to help ease their transition back to school life.
Recent storms have brought widespread flooding and destruction to KwaZulu-Natal, resulting in loss of life and the displacement of thousands. Fingerprints of Love, positioned within these hard-hit areas, has mobilized to offer immediate relief. Our ongoing efforts include rebuilding damaged homes, and distributing essential supplies—food, clean water, clothing, and medical aid—to those struggling to recover in rural communities and townships.
Our very first major project began in 2015 in partnership with The Domino Foundation, when we took on the renovation of Sibonginhlanhla Primary School in Waterloo, Durban. The school building had suffered years of neglect and vandalism. Through this collaboration, we contributed over R750,000 in improvements—transforming the space into a vibrant, functional learning environment and laying the foundation for a brighter educational future for its learners. As part of our commitment to holistic development, we also donated soccer and netball kits and equipment to the school, encouraging participation in sport and promoting physical wellbeing among the students.
In collaboration with a local business associate based in the Durban City Centre, we helped establish a cheerful, nurturing crèche in Albert Park. This facility now provides a safe space where young children can be cared for and educated during the day, giving working parents peace of mind and supporting the community’s youngest members at a critical stage in their development.
In the aftermath of the devastating tornado that struck Tongaat last year, our organization has been at the forefront of recovery efforts. Countless families were left without shelter, their homes heavily damaged or destroyed. In response, we’ve joined forces with local partners to rebuild homes, provide support to displaced families, and help restore not just structures—but also a sense of stability, dignity, and hope for the community.
We are in the process of launching a feeding scheme in Durban aimed at supporting underprivileged and vulnerable families. Through a promising partnership with a local supplier of soy mince and maize meal, we’re laying the groundwork for a sustainable food program. Our long-term vision is to provide regular, nutritious meals to those in need, and with continued support, we hope to expand the initiative to reach as many families as possible.
We’re currently running a Toys and Stationery Collection drive to support two early childhood development centres—one in Albert Park near Durban’s city centre, and another being established in the Waterloo RDP community near Verulam.
